Promoting community cohesion and celebrating diversity
Aim
The aim of Bike Across Cultures is to promote the benefits of cycling and walking to black & Minority ethnic communities. The benefits include our health and our impact on travel and the environment. For example, by doing more cycling and walking we can help reduce our chances of developing illnesses like heart disease and diabetes. Bike Across Cultures is about staying healthy & active, about having fun and celebrating our cultures.
Bike Across Cultures

Bike Across Cultures, is a joint event between Multicultural Richmond and Richmond, Kingston Racial Equality Council. All organisations work for equality & community cohesion, and the event is part of their ethnic health programme.
This is a very annual successful event, with over 100 people normally attending and taking part in either walking or cycling. We supply both children and adult bikes for those who don’t have any of their own. There is a Bike Doctor on site to deal with any mechanical biking issues, as well as access to First Aid and a Police Van.
The Mayors of Richmond and Kingston open the Event, and there are picnic areas, face painting, henna, Indian Head Massage and a raffle. The event starts at 11.00am and finishes at 3.00pm.
The event is normally in mid June on a Saturday. The date will be announced nearer the time so keep checking this page. We hope to see you there!
